Bright Hope Family Farm strives to provide produce & cut flowers grown with ecologically integrity our community using no-till farming practices. The farm is owned and operated by Lainey Johnson, with the help and support of her family. At our farm we work hard to improve the soil and environment. Our passion dwells in farming for future generations.
Meet your farmer.
I’ve been gardening most of my life. My passion is connecting nutrition with farming. I have a degree in nutrition therapy, psychology, and sociology. To further my eduction, in 2017, I enrolled in JM Fortier's Market Gardener Master Class. In 2018 I received a scholarship for the MOSES (Midwest Organic & Sustainable Eduction Service) Conference. I left the conference feeling inspired and empowered.
Growing up, my mom had a small greenhouse and garden that I reluctantly helped her with. As the years went by, I finally caught the “farming bug” and now I can’t imagine doing anything else as a career. I am the primary farmer handling the day to day operations on the farm. My husband, Andy is the work force behind a lot of our large, laborious projects. Our two young children can often be found in the field playing king of the compost pile and digging for earth worms. It gives me great joy to see them enjoy the farm along with us. I have a keen interest in developing rich soil, full of life in order to grow the most nutrient dense produce possible.
